Steven Cooper brings his global vision for equity in education and years of experience as a classroom teacher to his role at Level Up Village. He taught grades 3-5 for nearly 10 years, holds a Masters in Curriculum & Instruction for Bilingual and ESL education from National-Louis University and a teaching license for grades K-9.
Before joining the LUV team, Steven taught STEAM subjects in Spanish as part of a Dual Language Immersion program, first in Woodstock, Illinois, and later in a rapidly growing statewide DLI program in Utah. As a classroom teacher, he has helped hundreds of students to prepare to communicate in an ever-increasingly globalized world.
“My near decade teaching science in Spanish has shown me that students have a need to interact with other students on a global level. Level Up Village’s global learning platform allows educators to facilitate such experiences for their students. The LUV team does the heavy-lifting of training and logistics with global partner schools, so teachers can focus on their students,” said Steven.
