“The first week of Inventors changed what they thought was possible.” Chloe O’ Connor, Lower…
In the Global Doctors Anatomy course we couldn’t keep the kids from jumping out of their seats to answer questions and in the Global Video Game Designers course the kids did not want to leave! Thank you so much LUV for the gift you have offered to our kids!
Ronnie Maher, Founder/Director of NicaPhoto
NicaPhoto has been running LUV classes since 2014 and they have run more classes than almost any other partner.
The mission of NicaPhoto is to empower disadvantaged children and their families living in the poorest barrios of Nicaragua, allowing them to reach their full potential, and in doing so, to break the cycle of extreme poverty.
NicaPhoto does this in a holistic manner through educational support in the form of tutoring, art and enrichment to develop the creative spirit and critical thinking, as well as programs in health, nutrition and personal and community development.
NicaPhoto began in 2005 as a one week photography workshop given by Ronnie Maher, who still runs NicaPhoto today, and by 2010 had grown into a comprehensive youth development program focused on educational support, art (photography), and personal development. The majority of NicaPhoto students live in the barrio Sonrisa de Dios, one of the poorest and most deprived barrios in Nicaragua.
