The Goddard School Skokie-Evanston/Wilmette Partners with Level Up Village for a Global Learning Experience

Students in the Global Discovery Water class this Fall are Connecting with Peers in Zimbabwe for One on One Collaboration and Cultural Exchange.

Skokie, IL. – November 08, 2019 – The Goddard School Skokie-Evanston/Wilmette today announced it has partnered with Level Up Village to offer global STEAM programming that connects students to peers from across the world.  The Goddard School has started offering the Global Discovery Water class to their Pre-K students as of this Fall. Throughout the course(s), students will communicate and collaborate with partner students from Zimbabwe.

“Level Up Village is a multi-layered program that integrates 21st century skills from technology to environmental issues while prompting global and cultural awareness in our children, all in real time.” said Arianna Lopez, Executive Director, The Goddard School Skokie-Evanston-Wilmette. “This collaboration fits in perfectly with our F.L.E.X. learning philosophy and aligns seamlessly with our S.T.E.A.M. and social-emotional curriculum standards.”

The Goddard School Skokie Evanston/Wilmette will offer two Level Up Village courses this fall and winter for their Pre-K classrooms.

Level Up Village empowers children to make a difference in the world with courses that promote design thinking and one-to-one collaboration on real-world problems between K-9 students in the U.S. and Global Partner students in 20+ countries. U.S. school partners directly sponsor Global STEAM education in developing countries through LUV’s “Take a Class, Give a Class” model. Level Up Village is the first organization to receive the ISTE Seal of Alignment  and are connected to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs.)

In all Level Up Village courses, students at schools are paired with partner students taking the same course at one of LUV’s fully vetted and trained Global Partner organizations across Asia, Latin America, Africa and the Middle East. Through a combination of guided discussion, hands-on activities and interactive media, students identify an issue and apply design thinking to solve a real-world problem.  Students interact with their Global Partners via LUV’s global communication platform by exchanging video messages, participating in live video chats, collaborating on shared project files and creating personal profiles. In these ways, students not only work together on projects, but also discuss the real-life application of their learning and learn about each other’s daily lives and cultures. The result is meaningful global collaboration and an enhanced understanding of the world.

About The Goddard School Skokie-Evanston/Wilmette

The Goddard School Skokie-Evanston/Wilmette is a NAEYC accredited early childhood center serving families on the NorthShore.  Our programs span from 6 weeks to 6 years of age (Infant through Jr. Kindergarten; part time or full time after 15 months).  While there are many options out there, The Goddard School has many incredible differentiators.  Every classroom unit in our school is led by a Lead Teacher with a four year education related degree.  Our staff are educators and the very best in the industry.  Our low ratio and non-crib sharing at the infant age is a big differentiator.  In addition, we have two separate infant rooms.  Infant I is for younger infants.  Infant II is for our older infants.  For children on the food program, we offer an organic and local food program.  We have an incredible school with an indoor gym with a rock wall and over 10,000 SF of private and secure outdoor play space.  We are a year round open enrollment school, so new families can start at any time, based on availability.  Pricing is based on full day or half day programs, 2 days through 5 days per week.  Based on your program interest, we can provide tuition information for your family.  We have many incredibly happy families in our school and would love to have you come by for a tour!  We are the on-site owners focused on bringing the very best early childhood education experience to the North Shore.
